Photography as a hobby is much better than photography as a

business.  How do I know?  Well I tried to run a part-time

photography studio out of my home for approx. 3 years.  It was

extremely difficult.  Much of the struggles had to do with

where professional photography is in the marketplace. 

In today's digital age, digital cameras are in everyone's hands.

  Yes, there are professional photographers still making a good

living with photography.  However, they will be the first to tell

you the market is much smaller than it was 20 years ago. 

A professional photographer is defined as someone earning a living

from the sale of photographs.  I'm happy to call myself an

AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER.  I'll never sell another photograph again.

Photography is for me.
